About Us
Hands-on Glass was founded in 1990, originally as the first not-for-profit public access glass studio in Corning NY, offering instruction in glass-making for all ages and levels of experience. With a vision to create an educational program in glass and to share the process of glassmaking in a city made famous by it. We owe a great debt of gratitude to so many in this community who have contributed to the creation of this studio at a grassroots level. We stand on many shoulders, from the local glassworkers of Corning's factories (who built the heart of Corning Glass) to the studio glassmakers from the region and beyond who have all contributed their rich glassmaking/ glassblowing experience, knowledge, and passion. We look forward to sharing this with you!
